기후변화청년단체 GEYK는 기후위기 대응과 탈탄소 에너지전환 촉구라는 미션을 가지고, 2014년부터 탈석탄 활동을 하고 있습니다. 서울시 탈석탄금고 조례 개정 활동, 인도네시아 '자와' 석탄발전 투자 철회 활동, 강릉 안인화력발전소를 통한 신규 석탄발전 건설 공론화 활동 등을 진행하고 있습니다.

환경운동연합은 기후위기 극복을 위해 당진 에코파워 건설 백지화부터 삼척 블루파워 건설 중단 캠페인까지 신규 석탄발전소 건설 중단 활동을 진행해왔습니다. 노후 석탄발전소 수명 연장 사업을 저지했고, 조기 폐쇄를 외한 활동을 전개하고 있습니다. 탈석탄을 실현하고 깨끗하고 안전한 에너지전환을 이루기 위해 전국 51개 지역 조직과 함께 다양한 방식으로 활동하고 있습니다.
